CPN-UML leader Raghubir Mahaseth Speech.
“Madhes-based parties must welcome the election and participate in it. Current Madhesi Front’s activities are threat to election,” he said speaking during an interaction program organized by the Reporters’ Club Nepal on Wednesday.
He furthered, “Madhesi Front had previously agreed to do consensus if two of their bills would be endorsed. But even after two bills have endorsed, they have not cooperated us. UML can become flexible over three of the remaining bills but not on the amendment proposal on province demarcation.”
He also cleared Nepali Congress, UML and CPN-Maoist center all had common understanding on the province demarcation issues.
Mahaseth, also former Irritation Minister, claimed people wanted election even if Madhesi leader didn’t and requested Madhesi leaders to think about Nepal as true Nepali citizens.
Respoinding to Dina Nath Sharma’s accusation of UML to have humiliated Madhesi people during Mechi-Mahakali Campaing in Bhairawa, he said, “We have not uttered a word that would mock feeling of Madhesi people. Sharma’s accusation is baseless. We were compelled to condemn Madeshi leaders not Madhesi people.”
He also blamed Madhesi leaders to have dependent on India’s guidance to run party.
“We cannot tolerate direct interference from foreign countries. About our campaign, we have win hearts of Madhesi people,” he added.
In another note, he also objected over the newly elected Chief Minister of Utter Pradesh’s recent speech that his coming into power can bring a lot of positive change in Nepal and said, “Nothing is going to happen in Nepal. Modi came- what happened? – Nothing!”
He refused to comment on IGP appointment controversy. However he said that his party would welcome court’s decision.
