Nepali New Comedian

Experts and leaders in the media sectors have stressed the need of stopping misbehaving, thrashing and attacking on media persons as well as attacking on press.
At a greetings exchange and tea reception organised here on Wednesday on the occasion of 62nd establishment day of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), they demanded scrapping the Online Media Directives brought by the government, saying it was brought with an intension to limit the online media.
On the occasion, FNJ President Dr Mahendra Bista blamed that the Online Media Directives was brought with an intension to control press freedom, saying the government neglected the suggestion given by the taskforce time and again.
President Bista also appealed to all media house to implement minimum wages. He argued that the Election Commission could not stop the FNJ election as it is the non-political organisation.
Similarly, CPN (UML) leader and former General Secretary of FNJ Raghuji Panta and former President Homnath Dahal expressed the view that media house should publish and broadcast news in a disciplined manner in the changed context.
Chairman of the Administrative Court, Kashiraj Dahal, President of the Nepal Bar Association, Sher Bahadur KC, among others, also expressed their views.
Established in 2008 BS as Nepal Journalists’ Association, it was changed into Federation of Nepali Journalists in 2012 BS.
