HOW TO CONTROL VOMOTING IN BUS.

1. Travel on an empty stomach or a full stomach. Avoid travelling in the mountains on a half filled stomach.
2. Plug in your earphones, even if you are not listening to music.
3. Avoid sitting in the rear end of the vehicle, whether it is a bus, SUV or any other vehicle.
4. Avoid looking across the windshield of the vehicle since the frequent turns and the rapidly changing scenery might end up making you feel dizzy. Instead, view the scenery through the side windows and try to look as far as possible.
5. Avoid the aisle seats in the bus at all cost. You will end up slipping from your seats every time the bus makes a sharp turn.
6. If someone in your vehicle is vomiting, avoid looking at him/her and don't listen to the vomiting sound they make.
7. Carry lemonade/jaljeera with you, along with plain drinking water. Never drink water in a moving bus.
8. There are certain medicines/prescription drugs like Avomin which one can have before starting their journey. Consult your doctor before taking one. Please note that I have never taken them.
9. Avoid burning fumes and smoke from other vehicles.
10. Lastly, no race no rally, enjoy the beauty of the valley.
Avoid making your stomach bulkier by drinking more liquids than solids (if your stomach is full with liquids it is very vulnerable to motion sickness)

And the small amount of lemon juice added in sugarcane juice make you feel very fresh and you don’t even need to carry lemonade with you during your journey.

3. It is very important to avoid suffocation. Always make sure that you are getting fresh airflow during the journey. Try opening the windows even if you have filtered air flow through your car AC, sometimes that polluted air on highway feels fresher than the car AC air. (I have done a little research on this as I have seen many people who feel fresh after opening the windows in the AC car or bus.

4. Think positive and be happy. Try to be confident of yourself. Your swinging mood and fear has a lot of potential to make chemical (hormonal) changes in your body. Which may increase your restlessness.

5. It is very important to be comfortable physically. I have observed this too. There are very less chances of active vomiting if you are physically comfortable.

6. If the journey is small and comfortable, try to sleep when you start feeling uneasy.

7. Avoid all kind of noises, which can lead to headache and can spoil your mood. Listen to your favorite songs. By doing that you start enjoying the journey with more positivity.

8. Focus on things which makes you happy, like observing clouds, greenery, thinking about your loving people instead of dust and dirty places and things. My own kickass formula: Drink sugarcane juice before the journey if possible. But take care of the first point, do not drink too much. [The scientific reason is: sugarcane juice helps in reducing the acidity of stomach, which in turn reduces the chances of temporary GERD (gastric esophageal reflux disease) in short it reduces gastric irritation by minimizing acidity. Esophageal sphincter or Cardiac sphincter shown in the below image are the circular muscles around the neck of stomach which contracts and avoid the reflux of consumed food from esophagus in reverse direction. Human body naturally reacts to all situations. During a long journey- lack of sleep, improper food, irregular food intake timing and continuous movement of food inside stomach causes Esophageal sphincter to get in continuous contact with stomach acid which has the capacity to produce temporary reflux (as body naturally respond to avoid gastric irritation even if the person do not have hyperacidity problem)].
